Interesting prospect. The second to last paragraph was spot on in saying that the art market would defy traditional financial appreciation methods and makes it seem riskier. A the same time, though, emotional involvement with some of these pieces can push prices way up! Interesting article, especially with the stock market slow-mo crash and strange recovery yesterday!
