Pope to purge the Vatican of modern music
Well, well. Looks like the Pope is about to take a stance against modern sacred music. Seems he's more interested in baroque music and Gregorian chant. I wonder if this will affect the church musicians performing in catholic churches in the U.S. Time to whip out some Monteverdi.

this is such an interesting article! since music principally was used for purely political reasons in the church (uniting the roman nation through liturgy, mary, correct me on this if i am wrong) i think it is EXTREMELY INTRIGUING that the pope is using the choir as a metaphor for people "out-shouting" each other in the church. wow.
